Melt ABQ is Albuquerque’s newest third space, a place that isn’t home or work, where you can shop, take a class, or just hang out for a while. It’s run by Shannon and Joel, the duo behind Mountain Made Tie Dye. Mountain Made started in 2024 in our laundry room, when Joel began ice dyeing to decompress from his day job. Before long it had taken over the whole house. Shannon, with her background in marketing and design, said, “I think I can sell this.” She took it to Etsy, and soon we were doing markets all over Albuquerque. After outgrowing our home studio, and hearing customers ask “Where’s your store?” one too many times, we opened Melt. We love mindful, slow living, and Melt is built around it. You’ll find Mountain Made alongside work from local New Mexico artists and makers. There are also yoga, breathwork, and somatic coaching sessions with Shannon, a yoga instructor, women’s somatic coach, and breathwork facilitator, plus art classes for kids and adults.
